Dan's situation gets desperate

Lesley's brother Dan (at centre in this recent photo of the five siblings), is gravely ill with a nerve sheath sarcoma in the pelvic region.  Latest news is that he has been offered a pain relief operation involving aggressive surgery.

The situation is desperate.  Dan is only just managing to cope with the pain through the use of the maximum survivable dosage of morphine.  THis operation is the latest in a series of high risk manouevers that his doctors have been forced to take.

THe situation overflows ineluctably into the lives of Dan's close family, and Lesley as one of his sisters is under a great deal of stress and a grief-burden that is hard to carry/  Please pray for Dan, and for all those who are living through this situation with him.  I don't want to say too much - the urgency of disease can strip people of their dignity so easily - but I also don't want to ignore the fact that this is a huge and terrible reality in our lives at the moment
