Lesley and I preach regularly in the churches around our Methodist Circuit...one of our favourite tasks, and one of the most demanding.  Yesterday Lesley was on duty at Kennilworth Methodist, a little old stone church with a wooden step from the vestry to the church that has been worn down by the feet of the faithful

Yesterday's assigned topic was Romans twelve, and Lesley did a reasonably disquieting job of probing our consciences about how we are getting on with one another and the wider world, especially people who are being deliberately nasty to us.  Hmmm.  Actually, that's my idea of an effective sermon - I can still remember the challenge of scripture on Monday!
