In September we celebrated Dan's 64th birthday ... he was already very ill by then, and it was the last time he managed to go out.  Since then, he has spent most of his time in hospital, with a few precious but difficult days at home.
Yesterday morning he finally went to the home he will never have to leave.  He no longer has to fight the huge battles which his life demanded of him.  The grace of Jesus has triumphed for him.
We are relieved, but also sad that we will never again be "five".
