duncan has died

Lesley's beloved brother Duncan just died this evening, six months and one day after her brother Dan.

He suffered a massive right hemisphere stroke two weeks ago, which left him hemiphasic and struggling to speak and breathe. Then tonight he had an extreme cardiac arrest and passed away peacefully

Lesley is grateful that she was able to spend time reading (the Bible and the Lord of the Rings :) ) and praying with Duncan; also helping him re-learn brushing his teeth and hair. He was quite lucid and unaffected cognitively, although he struggled to speak...so there are many precious memories of the last days of a great man. Duncan was able to experience the love of all his family and hundreds of friends in his last weeks.

Please pray for Lesley and me, as we adjust to this enormous loss.  Duncan was a solid rock for us, a loving, intelligent and sensitive brother and confidante, with a child-like faith in Jesus and a firm grasp of the implications of living a life of discipleship. Please also pray for Duncan's wife, Jenny, his four children (Debbie, David, Andrew & Anne) and many grandchildren, and for his brother Rob, sister Eleanor,, and the nephews and nieces and people married into the clan and many many spiritual children who are all devastated.. This is a great blow for all of us.
