Menongue and counting ...

... counting on God that is.

It's a long way from Cape Town to Menongue! Through some very spare countryside with vast horizons.

Such a good thing the Angola trip had the loan of a Discovery Land Rover.

The last 200 km of their journey to Manongue took 8 ( that's right eight) hours. During that time Martin managed to capture their surroundings.

So, about ten days ago Martin talked about his Portuguese getting dug up and dusted off.  Well! This is what he writes now:
"Really tough because I am attempting a large translation project in order to produce a usable manual for the Kairos head facilitator course."
God really is remarkable.

But this is not only challengingcin itself,  there is everything else that is going on too ...  early morning and all day calls plus a sermon. And the odd noises the goats make as they sleep below the window!

Today's report: "I was woken by the brass shell bell at 0630 today. I then stumbled over the rickety bridge over the donga to a small classroom where a small group of girls (and one baby) gather every week for prayer and singing and Bible study. None of them can read. Today I got a piece of cardboard and painted for them - the mustard seed parable.

I let them join in and they very shyly at first and then more eagerly turned that mustard plant into a truly magnificent harden plant.
