Harbour Art

Martin reporting.

I had a great time teaching street art and story boarding to a small group at Kalk Bay Community Church on Saturday. The organiser was embarrassed that so few people turned up, but I was able to encourage him that that is exactly the issue - churches value evangelism very highly...but when evangelism is organised, people scuttle for cover!

Nevertheless, the five of us had a great, relaxed time down at Kalk Bay harbour. We had a huge amount of interest in our two paintings, we told the stories of the lost son and the lost sheep (a sheep in the harbour is seriously lost!), and one young man committed his life to being Jesus' disciple. Many, many people are living this week with the memory of the story of a God who comes looking for us to rescue and accept us.

I also saw a little boy catch a little fish, which was then swallowed hook, line and sinker by a passing cormorant! A fisherman hauled the fish back up and took the fish off the hook - which the cormorant promptly re-swallowed. The little boy was NOT impressed...
